The role
Corero is looking for a Network Administrator as part of our IT department to perform day-to-day maintenance of a network and systems in our Edinburgh office and local colocation datacenter. This role will work primarily in UK working hours, but US time may also be occasionally required.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, plan, setup, configure, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain the Edinburgh networks and systems environment, and its interactions with Corero’s worldwide systems.
- Deliver network, systems and environment needs across the managed facilities and engineering infrastructure, as needed by the R&D department.
- Provide desktop, helpdesk, and application support primarily for local Edinburgh and UK/EU staff, but others worldwide as required.
- Maintain and enhance the infrastructure, networks, and systems across Corero, including Linux and Windows switches, routers, wireless networks, firewalls, as part of the IT function as directed by the Corero Global Manager of IT.
- Perform controlled upgrades across systems as required.
- Setup new users in AD and O365 including security groups, credentials, and hardware.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Corero infrastructure.
Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Expert level experience of configuration of Linux server environments.
- Expert level experience of deploying L2 and L3 networks including Cisco and Juniper.
- Expert level experience in the following technologies: Cisco Firewall, Cisco VPN, VMware, Symantec Endpoint Protection
- Strong operational experience of networking security, VLAN, firewalls etc.
- Strong operational experience of network Cisco firewall configuration
- SaaS applications such as, Mimecast, MetaCompliance, HubSpot, SF.COM
- Strong knowledge of MS O365, SharePoint, and Teams
- Best Practices and knowledge of AWS and Azure (Intune a plus)
- Continuity planning/disaster recovery processes as it pertains to the network design.
- Strong documentation skills (SOP’s, Work Instructions, Visio diagrams)
- Excellent communication, planning and documentation skills.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills
Bash and Python.
Location
The candidate must be local to our central Edinburgh, UK office for hands-on systems work. Flexible hybrid working arrangements are possible around the need for local onsite support.
